Winter Fishing Tournaments
Massive schools of rockfish, also known as striped bass, lure anglers to Virginia Beach during the winter months in Virginia Beach – in fact, they are so abundant, Virginia Beach is known as the “
Striped Bass Capital of the World.” From November through January, Virginia Beach hosts three striped bass tournaments where anglers compete in hopes of catching some of the largest striped bass on record.
